£1,183,861 of CRES savings have been achieved following the successful award of the Pacemaker and ICD Peninsula contract for a 3 year primary period, from 1st April 2015 with an option to extend for a further 1 or 2 years.
The commitment contract is based on a multi supplier award to encompass all clinical requirements. The primary driver is Peninsula wide volume commitment and a once only approach to market, but also incorporates individual market share discount opportunities, so while there is a unified approach to the market there is still recognition at a local Trust level.
This is a third generation Peninsula contract and still the 10 participating Trusts and the market, have been able to collaboratively achieve significant savings whilst perhaps more importantly, maintaining clinical needs.
