The PPSA
Since its establishment in 2002, the Peninsula Purchasing and Supply Alliance (PPSA) has been committed to achieving best value for its stakeholders alongside delivering quality improvements and innovation for the NHS across the South West. We continue to build on the success of past years where savings in excess of £78 million have been delivered.
We are a dynamic and virtual NHS procurement organisation providing strategic sourcing and collaborative procurement leadership and support to our 15 stakeholder organisations across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and members located in Dorset and Wiltshire.
We currently manage in the region of £704 million of expenditure across the Peninsula on behalf of its member organisations. Our scope is community wide with a primary focus on the strategic management of a defined range of categories and services.
The NHS continues to face even greater commercial pressures in the South West with an increased focus on commissioning and tighter performance management to deliver best value for money. We provide procurement and commercial expertise to our 15 NHS stakeholders and collaborate with other South West Trusts wherever possible, to maximise savings.
We are a team of 11 highly qualified staff with a wealth of public and private sector procurement experience, enabling us to be able to demonstrate positive financial and quality benefits and in turn, improve patient outcomes.
Our focus on driving innovation, quality and value is resulting in us helping to achieve the best results from the £7.6 billion spent by the NHS in the South West each year. We strive to exceed the expectations of our stakeholders, customers and community.
Our values underpin the way we work and the philosophy with which we engage with commercial organisations and our stakeholders alike. We remain customer focused and positively engage with all stakeholders. We have a high regard for integrity and are fair in our dealings with others. We value teamwork and collaboration as a way of supporting continual improvement in the way that we operate. We strive to be transparent and have a high level of accountability to our stakeholders.
Our results driven philosophy stresses the need to deliver what we say we will deliver in the agreed timescales and we relish challenges, not only where we know that challenging will lead to improved outcomes, but also challenging ourselves to always improve and evolve to maximise the benefits to our stakeholders.
